Who is responsible

This policy covers the website and web app at mindspeace.com ("mindspeace", "we", "us"). For any privacy question or request, contact info@mindspeace.com.

Effective date: 20 October 2026.

Data that stays on your device

Your sound mix and volume levels, brainwave and tone settings, timer mode and daily focus statistics, your top-three tasks and brain-dump notes are saved in your browser's local storage. They are never sent to our server. The app also uses a service worker to cache its own files so it loads quickly and can work offline. You can delete all of this at any time by clearing site data for mindspeace.com in your browser settings.

All audio is generated on your device. We don't access your microphone and we don't record anything.

Data our server receives

Server logs

Like almost every website, our web server writes a technical log entry for each request: IP address, date and time, the page or file requested, the response code, the referring page and your browser's user-agent string. We use these logs to keep the site secure and working, for example to block abuse and find errors. Log files are deleted automatically after 7 days.

Privacy-friendly visit statistics

To understand which pages are useful, we run our own first-party statistics on our own server. No third-party analytics service is involved. From each page view we derive and store only aggregated information:

  • the page visited and the date;
  • device type, operating system and browser family, derived from the user-agent;
  • an approximate country and language, derived from your browser's time zone and language settings;
  • where the visit came from (for example a search engine, a link or direct), including the search terms if the referring site passes them on;
  • screen size and which tools were used (for example "brown noise" or "tinnitus therapy"), sent by the app as an anonymous usage event.

To count unique visitors per day we store a short one-way hash of your IP address combined with your user-agent and the date. The hash changes every day and we do not keep the IP address itself in our statistics. We don't build profiles of individual visitors and we don't combine this data with any other source.

Email

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to reply and keep the conversation for as long as needed to resolve your request.

Cookies

mindspeace doesn't set advertising or tracking cookies, and we don't use third-party analytics or social media pixels. The site works fully without cookies. The only cookie-like technology used is the browser local storage and service worker cache described above, which hold your own settings on your device.

If we ever add a service that uses cookies (for example advertising), we will update this policy first and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent before any such cookies are set.

Legal basis, sharing and storage

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process server logs and aggregated statistics on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a secure and useful website (Article 6(1)(f)), and email correspondence to answer your request.

We don't sell, rent or trade personal data. The site is hosted on a virtual private server provided by Hostinger, which processes data on our behalf only to provide hosting. We may disclose information if required by law.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, to object to or restrict processing, and to complain to your local data protection authority. Because we keep so little, and nothing tied to a name unless you email us, most requests can be answered quickly. Write to info@mindspeace.com.

Children

mindspeace is a general-audience tool and is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. Pages about babies and sleep are written for parents and carers.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and the effective date above. Significant changes will be highlighted on the site. See also our terms of service.
